More

A few more Lo's to share with you. Firstly, this one of my school camp 15 years ago, the photos were taken by an 11 year old me so weren't great but it was nice to document the event.
On Saturday was our Scrapaholix club. I did this LO, another one for Sadie and Gary's album, I only have one more photo to do now. I pinched most of the ideas from Kim cos I was feeling too tired to be creative! And I have to thank her for the gorgeous homemade journalling card too.
After I did that I worked on some page kits that I'd taken with me. This one was from a kit I bought in the Gogo shop last week, I more or less copied Lisa's example that came with it.
I wasn't very happy with the writing but there wasn't much I could do about it. That'll teach me to scrap when I'm over tired!!
I love all the quirky detail on this Sassafrass paper.

Happily Ever After

I've finished another of my storyteller projects. This is SJ's book which was titled 'Happily Ever After'. We spent the class working on the technical bits so I just had the decoration to do. I couldn't remember what SJ's book looked like by the time I got home so I did it in my own way. I did copy her cover though!
The idea was to document a story with a happy ending, so I did my school photos from nursery through to Graduation and have left a page for my next graduation or my first class. Included in the kit were some lovely, and I might add, exclusive frames and bits printed on kraft, so I decided to follow the kraft theme all the way through. The journalling on the first page was partially done with lettering designed for the project which I rearranged to say what I wanted....

I had to use this page from a dictionary....
I was especially pleased with this one. I drew the frame on Kraft CS and watercoloured it using a Sakura stardust pen.....
Some of the little frames.......
The journalling worked well on this one......
Some more elements of my own invention!
The end of the story so far.....

And finally, the little surprise that pops out of the back. I turned it into a school house to make it fit with my theme.
Not bad huh?

Popular

I've had a really great day today. This afternoon I went into school but instead of working in the foundation stage class like I usually do, I worked in the year 1 class. These are the children I worked with last year, and to say they were pleased to see me was an understatement! They nearly flattened me when they saw me and at playtime loads of them wouldn't go and play they just wanted to stand near me! It was great to work with different staff too, it's all good experience.

After school my friend Emma popped round for a cuppa. She's currently floating on air, I don't know if you remember, but back in July I went to London and was a bit stingy with the details. This was because Emma was taking her Irish Dancing teachers exam and I was keeping her company, she wanted it kept really quiet so as not to jinx it. Anyway, as you've probably guessed by now, she found out on Monday that she had passed so we've spent lots of time this week excitedly chattering about competitions and costumes etc.

After that I spent the evening scrapping. I've been asked to be a guest designer for Twisted Sketches next week so I turned this kit that I bought on saturday....
Into something lovely. Check out Twisted next weds (or probs thurs our time) to see what I've created.
I'm having an early night tonight, it's international Languages day tomorrow so have a morning of Spanish fun to look forward to!

Come Back GoGo

I have my laptop back, yay!! Two days has felt like two weeks. I have so much to share with you and I'm not even going to apologise for the length of this post!

Firstly a layout with my Sept kit, I kept it quite simple as I just loved that paper and wanted to let it stand out. I'd been searching for the right paper for this photo of my best friend and me at my cousins wedding and I think this one sets it off nicely.

Next, my first LO with BB Flirty, it's so bright and funky I just love it. I didn't do a title as such, just used the journalling bit from the elements sheet.

I added a couple of flowers for some 3D-ness! And some glossy accents for some shininess!

Now onto the fabulous day that was Saturday. Scrapagogo came to Bristol, we bought our tickets months back so it was so exciting that it had finally come around. The classes were as amazing as you would expect from the Gogo girls, and it was really brilliant to finally meet Janice and Lorraine, the DT and some fellow subbers who I've been chatting to online for ages. It's quite strange to walk into a room full of people you recognise but have never met but I just didn't wanna go home I could have chatted all day!

These pics weren't quite in the order I planned but this is a small amount of the stash I bought in the shop, it was a lovely treat to be able to do real life stash shopping. There were bargains galore and I'll share some more later.
A little detail of the day which I was just thought was so fab, and so very in the gogo spirit, were the gifts given to us by Helen, Lisa and Nicola after their classes and some freebies from L&J. I especially loved the handmade pin cushion from Lisa and needle book from Nicola. I am forever losing needles so this was the best gift!
So, onto the classes, I have only finished the LO's so far. I want to give plenty of thought to the mini books as they are so fab I wanna make sure I do them justice.
Firstly, Laura's class. It was great to be taught by Laura as I've admired her work for so long and followed her blog. Her class was called Chapter and Verse and was based on the idea of a timeline. She'll be pleased to see I've done my journalling, it's basically about how my future at the moment all depends on if I get into uni and if all goes to plan in three years from now I will have my first class.
It was funny though cos Laura pointed out that we didn't have a time machine so we couldn't do a photo for the future, but I apparently I did cos I wrote the date on the second photo as December 09!!!

Next is Lisa's class, I always admire Lisa's DT work each month so was great to have an insight to her style. This was based on circles, both physical and metaphorical, the photos were based on something that is a tradition or goes round, happens every year etc.
I was really pleased with the photos I had chosen, the colours went just well with the papers.
The kit for this class was jam packed with gorgeous things like mini alphas and stamps.
Another lovely touch was the blank cards include in the kits to use the leftovers on. I plan to do this soon so will share when I do.

And finally, Nicola's class. I have to say a massive thank you to Nicola from Me and Mum, we were so touched by all the preparation she did for this class, it made it really unique and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was all based on the idea of 'Fabric Fables' and Nicola had cut circles of fabric, stamped and stitched exclusive journalling cards, stitched borders and crocheted flowers and boy did they make for a great LO.
This photo is of Me and my dancing friends at a really big St Patricks Day event we took part in, in 1998, I was waiting for a new costume which unfortunately was not ready in time so I had to borrow one.
The attention to detail was amazing, I love this detail with the pattern paper.
That awesome journalling card......
And the cool Yo-Yo's that I will definitely be making more of.
Well I'm gonna shut up now, I'll be back soon with the progress of my projects from SJ and Helen's classes.
Thanks for sticking with me xx

Uh Oh

Somethings not right. My right arm has fallen off....no thats not it.... no wait I know.....the laptop isn't working. So I am stuck using the steam driven beast that is our pc. I had a mammoth blog post planned with lots of photos from my amazing day with the Gogo girls on Saturday but I'm not even gonna attempt to upload them on this old beast cos it would take too long and I would end up throwing things! Your gonna have to wait just a bit longer but honestly, I promise it'll be worth the wait!

Happy Monday xx

Proof of my Newly Found Mojo

Since I got my mojo back I've been quite busy so it's time to show you what I've been up to. Firstly a layout done with BB Camped Out.......
I have done another lo but I'm gonna keep that one to myself for a while (*wink*).

Apologies for the photo quality on this one. It's based on a Twisted sketch but I didn't use the twist. I used the BG Indian Summer papers I won a few weeks back......
I UTEE'd some of my chipboard butterflies.....

Couldn't resist some paper beads........
Next is another LO using the same sketch. This one is to go in my cousins wedding album, it's one of her favourite photos from the whole day.......
Here's a little close up of the detail...
And finally, my gogo kit arrived yesterday, it's gorgeous and absolutely rammed with really sweet embellishments.
I absolutely adore the woodgrain paper and the cork alphas. The hand cutting was a bit of a labour of love but definitely worth it in the end,
So that's what I've been doing over the last few days, and plan to do a bit more later. Have a busy morning, meeting a friend and I still need to organise one lot of photos for Gogo Storyteller on Saturday but this afternoon and evening is scrap time!
Have a great day

A Box Full of Mojo

Today I had a parcel I'd been waiting for for a very long time, even though I only ordered it yesterday! I fell in love with the CHA Bella BLVD collections as soon as I saw them but, as with most of my faves they seemed to be one of the last few collections to land in the UK. When I saw they had arrived at A Trip Down Memory Lane yesterday I just had to have them, even though I wasn't gonna spend any money on stash til the Gogo shop on saturday. I have to say that I was very impressed with the service from Mel and Jill and was especially grateful that it was so quick cos the wait would have done me in!!!

I ordered a couple from each collection but I think I'll be going back for more. Here's the Superstud......

The Plastino......

Flirty......

And Camped Out....

This was exactly what I needed to kick start my mojo, it was like getting a box full of inspiration. I did two layouts this afternoon that I was really pleased with. I haven't photographed them yet so I will be back with those tomorrow.

I don't wanna become one of those people who blog only about stash so here is a layout I did a while back and didn't share. The pic is of me and Alfie, one of the many pets I looked after when I was housesitting! It's done using BG Lemonade......
This morning I met our whole class for the first time. They're a lively little bunch, a couple of difficult characters but mainly really sweet and very young. It'll be interesting over the next few weeks to see them settling in and getting used to the routine of things. I did an activity today where they each had to draw their face for a display. It was a great way to get to know them cos I could see how they all tackled the same task and gave me time to chat to them. It made me even more excited about one day having a class of my own. Only 3 years to go (hopefully).

Off to dream up some more layouts!

Jake loves Katherine

I've had a tiring day, I've been helping to look after my nephews who are lovely but very typical boys so I've had poo and bums and general toilet talk all day long!!! Before bedtime we tried to bring an air of calm by putting on the Proms in the Park, at the start Jake (who's 12) moaned that it was boring, by the end he had announced that he wanted to marry Katherine Jenkins!!!

I managed to escape for half an hour and popped down to Hobbycraft which is near their house. Their scrapping section seems to get smaller and poorer quality everythime I go but quite a lot of their Making Memories stuff was reduced so I got some Tiny Alphas for £1.99 which I was pleased about. I try to like the cheaper alternative by MLS but their shininess just doesn't do it for me so I was chuffed to find the MM ones for the same price. I also bought a pack of chipboard butterflies which were 1.89 and there are loads in the bag so I have big plans for those.

Anyway, I couldn't blog without a photo so I'll leave you with this layout. I showed you a sneak a while back because I'd submitted it to a magazine but they obviously decided not to go with it so here it is.....

Love Earth Love

Sorry about my blog neglect recently....I've had quite a busy week, not crafting, so I've not had much to blog about. I've been working on my uni application, which is now sent, and also have been starting some research so I am super prepared for interview and they absolutely won't be able to turn me down! So now my fate lies in the hands of the admissions team at Bath Spa, fingers crossed peeps!

Last night I went to see Julie and Julia at the cinema, a film about blogging!!! It's a great film, if you go see it, search Julia Child on you tube first and you'll realise how awesome Meryl Streeps portrayal is, it's uncanny!

Anyway, onto scrapping. I had a little stash parcel from Bellaboo, have you heard of Bellaboo? Apparently it has a great Design Team!!!! I ordered some of the lovely new Earth Love from Cosmo Cricket......
I also ordered a huge pile of Kraft CS which I get through at an impressive rate, some letter stickers and some CC Jolly by Golly to use on my crimbo cards.
The other day I made this little pressie for my friends who are moving house soon....
I found some scraps of the Fancy Pants Kraft houses which were so adorable I couldn't bear to leave unused so I cut them out and used some scraps and journalling stamps to make these cute little change of address cards. I was so pleased with them, it felt like I made them from nothing!!

So my lack of mojo has improved a bit and I know I have some DT work coming so I thought I'd better try and give it a kick start! I did this layout using the Earth Love.
I am kind of happy with it, it's a start, I haven't been this long without scrapping for ages so it was nice to do some. Here's a bit of a close up so you can see the detail...
Tomorrow I am back at school for the first time this year and I can't wait. I'll be meeting the new little people for the first time, they are gonna be so tiny! This is going to be new experience to me as I didn't start in school until term 4 last year so the children were already settled in. Will let you know how I do.
Off for an early night xx
