RAK's and PIF's

I'm back from another lovely weekend in sunny Devon. Before I went I promised to upload my attempt at the Twisted sketch #3. I decided to kill two birds with one stone and used the sketch to create my example for a little class I'm doing for a few friends. I wanted to show them how to scrap without using patterned paper so here's what I did....
Here's the required 'Fine Bling' in close up detail. I used glitter glues and Sakura stardust pens.
There's a bit of hidden journalling too....
The other day I was lucky enough to win a RAK (Random Act of Kindness) from Katy's blog.
It was a package full of journalling bits, a really great prize as I go through these fairly quickly. As I was so fortunate, I thought I would pass it forward and do a little RAK of my own so leave me a comment telling me your fave product or technique of the moment and I will give away a prize to one lucky person. Leave your comment on this post by this Friday 3rd July.
Off for my BB fix

Snotty

Hey all, I've just got back from school and my cold is really setting in now but we are going to the caravan for the weekend so at least I can just chill out. I am taking some scrapping stuff with me so if this weather stays bad I can sit indoors and scrap. I am looking forward to making a start on my DT work, I have loads of ideas for it.

I thought I'd share a couple more of the shoot pics. There were a whole series of these 'eye' shots...
I love this one, and you should have seen Sarah's face when we told her that this wig belonged to an old lady before she died!
These ones came out so well, pink hair suits Sarah strangely well!
So off now to do my least favourite job, packing. At least I don't have to take much. I will try and post my attempt at the 3rd Twisted sketch before I go but if not I'll do it when I get back.

Stunners

I'm not feeling too good (don't worry I'm not oinking yet!) so while I've got my feet up I thought I'd blog a few of the photos from Sarah's bday shoot. She was so chuffed with the pics and you can probably see why....
Sarah.....

Blowing out the candles...We've given Laurence a bit of stick over this one, what a poser hey?!

One very shiny handsome doggy.
Sarah and me, it's a wonder they peeled us apart afterwards there was that much make up!
We got a bag of props out and they thought the fro suited me!

Back with more later xx

Giraffes CAN Dance

I can't sleep. I had a busy day today and I didn't feel too exhausted afterwards but I should have known that I was storing up trouble and my sleep would suffer, I am so predictable. Ironic that a fatigue illness causes insomnia!

Anyway, today was our production at school, I was so proud, the children did so well. It really confirmed to me again that teaching is what I should be doing, it's just fantastic to do such lovely things with the children and see them up on the stage is so rewarding. I almost cried when the children presented me with a bunch of flowers for my help. The play was called Giraffes Can't Dance and the cast included Tigers that could tango (complete with a rose between the teeth!) Parrots that Cha-Cha and Rockin' Rhinos, the dancing was so sweet, they got lots of laughs and huge rounds of applause.

Back to scrapping, I started this layout last night. I am so loving the Early Bird papers by Cosmo Cricket. They are so beautiful, I will definitely be buying more of these. Unusally for me I picked the papers and cardstock before the photo. I loved this apple green and the papers looked fab with it so it was lucky that I found a photo that went so well.
It's hard to tell from the photo but I had my first experiment with silicone glue, so the flowers are at different levels. I was really pleased with the effect. I die cut the title from some glittery sticky sheets I had.

These arrived today......
More goodies from SJ's folksy shop (there is a link to her blog on my side bar) When I saw that she had these cupcake lovelies in her shop I had to have them and of course a couple of other bits 'fell' into my basket. The colours are so juicy and lovely and the quality is fab, I can't wait to use them.
I did another layout this eve, using a photo from our shoot on Friday night but I can't share it here yet a) because Sarah might see and I'm keeping the pics secret until her bday and b) cos it's about friendship so I'm submitting it for the next SI gallery. I will share as soon as I can though cos I am really pleased with it.
For what was gonna be a short post, I've waffled on for ages and I really should be trying to get some sleep!

I Love Sky Plus!

I don't know where this week has gone. Things were out of routine for me so I haven't known what day it is most of the time! So, Wednesday I watched the postman drive up the road with a yellow box on the seat next to him, my gogo kit! It was so full of goodies it was heavy! Firstly there was a little surprise, my prize for the Stay at Home Challenge, these really cute AC backyard stickers......
Then the Go2Pieces some really unusual bits and pieces this month...
Then some lovely journalling bits including a pen, some brads and pins and stunning Thickers and my fave bit, three really lush ribbons.
Then the papers, I am loving the spotty Hambly...
So I was a bit busy and although I was desperate to cut into it, it didn't happen til Thursday but this is the result.....
Me on my first trip to Dartmoor when I was 6 months old! I have always found those walks tiring!!!
I have been busy in school, we are getting ready for our play on tuesday so I have been making the Hall look fab with big displays of the lovely giraffes the kids painted last week. I've even had to bring some stuff home to do at the weekend to get it ready in time.
Yesterday my sister turned up with some munchies to watch the Biggest Loser Final, I know how bad that sounds and no, we aren't trying for the next series! It was so excited, we cried and screamed and swore (well that was just me actually!) Everyone looked fantastic and the winner was quite unbelievable. Since it was on I've watched the end like 4 times cos we kept rewinding it to show everyone who walked through the door! Seriously, if you can watch it!
Last night, my BIL did a photo shoot of my best friends for her bday pressie. I didn't know what to get her and was so pleased to come up with the idea cos we had a lot of fun. I managed to sneak into a few photos too. I'll share them when I can.
Anyway, I should probably get up.
Have a good Saturday blogland xx

Catching the Worm

I've never been one of those people who cannot cut into a new sheet of paper, never been a stash stroker, as soon as new papers or goodies arrive they just get my creative juices flowing and I can't wait to get my hands on them. So when my Early Bird papers arrived yesterday I got stuck in immediately and last night and today I did these........
This photo has been in my to do pile for ages. I have lots of photos of me and Hannah our rain gear and I can remember these times so well so they just had to be scrapped. Besides, we looked so stylish in our raincoats that the memory just had to be preserved!
Then another photo that has been waiting for a while and these papers just suited so well. My nephew Wesley and me in a school photo. Back then little brothers or sisters came in for photos and as Wes was the nearest thing I had to a younger sibling he came in. I remember being so excited cos we could wear party clothes for our photos. Unfortunately the dress I chose had a plain black top! A fact that I am grateful for now as the skirt was a rather snazy red tartan!!
Wes did have a rather lovely collection of Noel Edmunds stylee jumpers, nice!
Tomorrow is kit day so I will be postie stalking, yay!

MAMMOTH

Right, I'm gonna make this post a good 'un cos it's just taken me almost an hour to upload the photos! So, my weekend went something like this. After I finished school on Friday, my lovely friend Sarah came over, her OH was away on a stag weekend so I was gonna stay over to keep her company. We decided to go out for a quiet girly drink, and we chose one of our old haunts, The Avon Gorge Hotel, which has a fabulous view of this....
All lit up at night it looks awesome, we had a lovely relaxing time, there is always a great atmosphere there, and we chatted the evening away.

On Saturday, I woke up early, had lovely cuddles with Frank, (the dog, not my Dad!!) had my fave brekkie of pancakes with Bacon and Maple Syrup, Sarah makes V. V. good pancakes. I then packed up and went off to Kim's for our Scrapaholix club. We missed last month so had two kits to work with so I did this layout...
Another one for Sadie and Gary's wedding album. She was so chuffed with it.

I was pleased with this little flower that I made.
I then did this layout, the pic is from our trip to Plymouth Marine Aquarium and is of Mum and Dad holding a rock that has been attacked by Boring Piddocks, so obviously the title was there on a plate!!
In the evening we went to Sadie and Gary's for a takeaway. Tinks has had yet more kittens and these two little cuties were left......
I fell in love with the little boy (the one on top,) and Sade put it in my bag as we were leaving but Dad saw it! One day.....

On Sunday we made the most of the lovely weather by continuing with our garden renovations. I painted the pots in lovely bright colours and made little flags for the plants.
I got greatly teased for 'scrapping the garden'. I don't care though, it looks pretty.

Then finally, the postman bought me some niceties yesterday, some Cosmo Cricket Early Bird....
Some Bubblegum Pink Glimmer Mist
And some October Afternoon Road Map which I've just realised there isn't a picture of and after all that palaver I'm not about to add one!
Am having a quiet afternoon before I go into school this aft, I'm working on a pottery project with some Key Stage 2 kids so it'll be a messy one.

Little Blinger

Hey peeps, Am having a bit of a busy weekend, nice busy though!! Will sit down properly and update tomorrow but wanted to share this LO from earlier in the week, cos even if I say so myself, I LOVES IT! (Sorry v. Bristolian!)...... My very Girly, pink, sparkly niece Hannah. Just perfect for Girl Friday papers and elements. Originally I stamped the Polka dots in white paint but a lightbulb went on and I decided to go bejewelling mad! The photo doesn't really do the sparkle justice but take it from me its Blingtastic!

Back with Layouts and other photos tomorrow

TWISTED

I found a great new challenge website whilst blog hopping this morning, its called Twisted Sketches. I really liked the first sketch so had a go straight away.
The 'twist' was to use some ribbon......
I know there are lots of challenge sites out there but this one really captured my imagination. Will be keeping an eye out in the future........

Reality Strikes

Good Morning Blogland. I seem to be getting very slow at sharing my layouts with you. I did this one days ago but never seem to think of photographing them at the right time. Even now this photo isn't great but you'll get the idea. I used lots of Cherry Hill, including the die cuts which are so cute....
There was no particular story behind the photo I just thought it was cute and went with the papers!

At the moment I seem to have got myself a bit of an addiction to reality TV, I've always liked it but I'm obsessed at the moment! I am, of course, mourning the loss of The Apprentice and the fact that the legend that is Margaret will never raise an eyebrow to a candidate again!

I am also enjoying the start of BB. I never normally watch the first week or two as there always seems too many people and too much screaming but there seems some quite entertaining people this year and I have even found myself laughing on occasion (especially when Cairon was washing Siavash's hair!)

But the best of all is the underdog of the reality shows, The Biggest Loser. It is so addictive, and now its nearing the end I just can't wait to see how everyone will do and who will win. I didn't realise until yesterday that Jodie Prenger (of I'd Do Anything fame,) was the winner of the first series, losing over 46% of her body weight. If this years contestants lose those sorts of numbers I cannot wait to see what they look like at next weeks final. Kevin or Carol to win!!!

Anyway, after a busy day at school yesterday, I plan to have a quiet day today scrapping an catching up with some tv on the laptop.

Enjoy your day whatever you are doing

Nosey Neighbour

A quiet day here, a bit of scrapping and a bit of nosing out the window at our neighbours wedding preparations!! I finally got around to photographing a double LO I did a few days ago. I'd been dying to do something else with those Mr Campy papers. I used photos from a couple of quiz nights on holiday. This is the left hand side...

And the right..... (sorry about the picture quality, this weather doesn't give the best light!)
And both together.....

As practically everyone has spent the week raving about the GoGo Getaway, Lorraine said we could set ourselves a little challenge and she would provide a prize. Me and Jenny decided that we would do a scraplift and include at least two of the following three things, a songtitle, some bling and a new technique. I lifted this funky LO by DT member Karen Cole. Here is mine......
My new technique was a homemade mask which I used to blend inks over for the border, I then spritzed with Cosmic Shimmer Mist for the bling.
Here's a bit of a close up. I'm so pleased with this LO. It took me practically all day which I'm really pleased about as I feel I haven't rushed it and put in lots of detail. I can't wait to see what the others come up with.
Off for my BB fix
Night xx

GoGoing Nowhere

I didn't realise how long I hadn't blogged for! How lazy of me. I haven't been being lazy, honest. I've been in school, spent a day with a friend, done some scrapping and lots of other things. I did this layout which I love..

I loved this photo of my neice Hannah, she was such a beautiful little girl so I wanted to use lovely bright pretty papers. I used OA Cherry Hill, including the Die Cuts and journalling stickers. I was especially pleased with the bling, I just did it using my bejeweller, who needs expensive Prima bling when you can do your own! Am loving that Cherry Hill dictionary paper.

I don't have much planned for the weekend, apart from cleaning out my car which is so unbelievably disgusting I can't bear it any longer. We had a 40ft conifer cut down in our back garden this week and guess who left their car parked next to the pick up truck full of cut down tree with their sun roof open???! Yes my car is full of sawdust so no more excuses.

I have got some scrapping planned. As one of the unlucky few that can't afford the GoGo Getaway, me and a couple of the girls have done a GoGo Stay At Home challenge so I am gonna get on with that tomorrow. If you are a GoGo girl at home this weekend come on over to the Club House and join us.

Thats all for now

Baked Goods

Thought I'd share some pics of Dad's birthday celebrations yesterday. He is 62 but thinks he's 12 so childrens games were the only thing for it!
Danny....
I think Martyn swallowed his whole!

Photographic proof that Hannah and Nanny were cheating!
And Jon, not getting on to well!! These are definitely scrapping material.

Today we went to the local garden centre for lunch with my lovely Auntie Sue, I love to have a wander with my camera while I'm there. Here are a few flower shots I took. Cute little daisies....
A big sunny sunflower..
Whoops, just realised photo is sideways!! And finally, I just loved the colours on this Iris.....
I love this sunny weather but feel like I can't enjoy it this week. My legs are still bright red, making wearing shorts or skirts rather embarrasing, and now, to add insult to injury, my ankles have swollen up so my feet really do resemble two freshly baked, well risen hot cross buns!
I did have a smile put on my face this evening when my cousin popped round with a present for me, will post a photo of it tomorrow.
Thats all for now
