Sunday Best

I haven't shared with you the LO I did with this months Bellaboo kit. I featured the new Sassafrass Sweet Maramalde papers, I was really glad to have the chance to work with this kit as I think I probably wouldn't have chosen the papers myself but have actually ended up buying more of the papers since! This is a pic of my twin cousins at my baby cousins christening......
And here is some close up detail.
I am loving liquid pearls at the moment, they add a lovely bit of detail and texture.
Back soon xx

Try Something New

When I recieved my August Gogo kit, which seems like ages ago now, I didn't think I'd end up using this piece of paper. But this is what I love about the kits is that it gives me a chance to try something different that I might not normally try and on this occasion I was really glad I did.
These pics were taken on my nieces 21st birthday and they were so much fun that they were just perfect for this kit. The little cupcakes were great for the birthday theme and I just added a mixture of Thickers and some pink stones. So a piece of paper that I didn't think I liked turned into a LO I was really pleased with, good huh?!

Hairy Nice

This day was so funny it just had to be scrapped! I once bought Dad a packet of stick on eyebrows for a joke Crimbo pressie and for some reason they appeared one Sunday teatime. The kids had such a laugh with them!

All papers are WRMK and I just added a few other bits.

Pool Party

While I'm away on holiday I've scheduled some posts for your perusal. I found a few LO's that I hadn't shared with you as I had submitted them to mags but now I can share so here is the first one. I wanted this one to be really bright and bold....

I did it using a card kit from Crafty Templates and a couple of other bits. I like how the orange and blue contrast and the pink just makes it even more vibrant. A sunny theme was also appropriate as it was a gorgeous sunny day and I ended up getting so burnt I could barely walk.....not fun and not advisable!

Road Trip

Just incase you didn't spot this in SI a while back here is the most recent LO I had published. It was for the travel gallery and when they put the call out I had just recieved my OA Road Map papers so it was a great chance to get stuck into them.
This was a really funny day. As part of our uni induction the course leaders organised a trip to a beach in Wales as a team bonding exercise. Unfortunately with it being October it wasn't really beach weather and our attempt at a camp fire was soon put out by the rain. Luckily there was a pub nearby so we quite happily bonded over pints and piping hot bowls of chips! Was still a fun day though!

Hope you like!

Funny

This week one of Scrapagogo's best ever kits arrived. The theme is Mother Nature and it is just gorgeous. Full of these luscious papers.......
And these amazing bits and pieces......
Here's my first layout using it. We took these pics of Max at the caravan. He was so sweet painting this cow, he really took his time and concentrated so hard.
Sorry the picture isn't great, I'm still in my pj's so I didn't really wanna go outside! Here's a close up, it's hard to see but I added some embossing powder to edges of the corrugated letters for a kind of distressed effect.
And finally a bit of a funny story. On tuesday I was in Reception helping out and I heard the teacher say that she should make a badge for the special person and the helper. So on Thursday morning I had a spare half an hour so I whizzed this up out of scraps using the Sizzix and laminator........
On Thursday afternoon I popped in to give it to her on my way to year 1. She loved it and thanked me and I went on my way. About 20 minutes later she appeared in year 1's classroom looking a little sheepish and produced from behind her back the Special Person badge in two pieces. It turned out that she had accidently left it on the art table and one of the children had cut it in half! She was hugely apologetic but I just found it so funny, at least I hadn't taken long over it! Anyway it's all mended now and looks (almost) as good as new!
I have a couple of LO's planned for today so hopefully I'll be back later.
Have a lovely Sunday xx

Preview

I promised to share some more previews, this time of my first piece of DT work for Butterfly Crafts. Sorry it didn't happen sooner but the weather has been so pants! Well here it is, to see it in full and to see the prompt you need to check out the blog on Thursday.
As you can see it's bright and busy and I'm really pleased with it.
I've spent today working on two layouts, I have submitted them for reader galleries so can't show yet but here is a peek.....
This one using OA Report Card and this one.......
......using Bella Blvd Flirty.
I've been bored today so am really glad to be going into school in the morning. I am so not relishing the idea of half term (a sentence that I'm sure I'll never use once I am a teacher!!!). Our class are now in full time so I am expecting things to get a bit busier, now they are settled in properly things will be a little more 'down to business' and there will be lots of jobs to keep me busy.
So with that in mind it's probably best that I go get some sleep!

DT work

I've been working on some Dt work lately. Last week I was working with this month's Bellaboo kit, which is just fab. I couldn't believe how much Cleo had packed into it for just £20. This month I made 3 projects, a LO, a mini book and something a bit different. Keep your eyes on the website for the newsletter.

Here are a couple of sneaks.......
I just LOVE these Sassafrass papers, they are so pretty. I've actually bought another sheet of a couple of them!
Today I've been working on my first Butterfly Crafts challenge which goes live on Thursday, it's an interesting one so make sure you check it out. I'll be back tomorrow with a teaser! xx

Scrapping, Stash and Shoes

Lots to share today, apologies for the terrible photos, I've been trying to improve the quality of my photos of LO's but the weather has been so dull and wet that I can't get decent light!

Firstly, the academy week 1. My academy album was looking a bit serious compared to my others so I thought I'd add a bit of humour! The journalling reads 'The best advice, I've kept with me since childhood is to never eat yellow snow!'
Next another LO with my BB papers. I don't even know where this photo of Jake was taken but it's so gorgeous I just had to scrap it, hence the lack of journalling. It's just simply Jake......
A little detail in the corner....
I just love cutting detail from patterned paper atm, it's like a bargain embellishment and is guaranteed to coordinate!
Now onto stash, I wait patiently every CHA for (usually) the last and my very favourite launch.... OCTOBER AFTERNOON!!! Yay, it's landed and I love it. Here's Farm Fresh (sorry bout the photo, forgot to crop it!)
And Report card which has now been cut into. With school being a strong theme in my life right now this paper is going to be well used up.
Talking of school, my application for uni is now officially sent off, my reference is filled in and now it's a waiting game, keep everything crossed for me.

What's even better than new stash? FREE stash! My Thickers prize arrived from ATDML, thanks Mel and Jill, what a fabby prize and sooooo useful.......
And finally away from the scrapping theme but I just had to share my new shoes with you. I had no intention of shopping for shoes yesterday, was simply going to M&S to meet my big sis for coffee and came out with these beautiful babies!
Sexy huh? Just need somewhere to wear them now!
I've just recieved my first Butterfly Crafts instructions which are for the 15th challenge next week so I don't have long and it's gonna require some thought so hopefully I'll get it done early next week. Don't forget to check out the blog this time next week to see what I come up with.
Have a great day

NEWSFLASH

It has been announced officially so now I can share my news with you. I've just accepted my place on the Butterfly Crafts Winter DT! If you don't know Butterfly Crafts you should pop over and take a look. Karen puts up two prompts a month on the 1st and 15th and now on the 15th of the next few months you will see my example to hopefully inspire you.

Thats all for now, I need to go get dressed!

October Use It Up

I usually try and play along with Nicola's Use it Up challenge over on the Gogo CH but have been struggling a bit because I haven't been subbing very long. The idea is to use up the kit from a whole year ago ie, October 08 in October 09. I decided to use up some of the kits from the Storyteller event so I made these two cards using scraps from Lisa and Nicola's classes.
They came together really quickly but I''m quite pleased with them.

Winning Streak

I can hardly believe my luck at the moment. I never win anything, then last week I won the Gogo Use It Up Challenge, then I won a prize for getting published in Trends. Last night I couldn't sleep so switched the laptop on really late and found out that I'd won the Thickers competition at A Trip Down Memory Lane. It's so exciting, now I'm waiting for lots of lovely surprises in the post, let's just hope there's not any strikes this week!

B xx

P.S Also had some other exciting news which I can't share yet but watch this space!!!

Pressies

How chuffed am I with these???
I bought these gorgeous note books in Sainsbury's in a sale for less than a pound each. They are lovely soft leather effect. I thought they were ripe for jazzing up.....
I coated these Prima's in glossy accents to make them less delicate. I'm gonna give them to teachers in school for Christmas, lovely unique presents that cost pennies, that's what I'm liking this year!!!

Academy

Here's week 2 of the September academy modules, I did it last week but had to take the photos again. Am loving this kit, it's really kept me going for the whole month, the new one will be here next week!

Hope you're having a Happy Monday xx

Trendy

Apologies for my lack of blogging lately. I've had a really busy week and any spare time I've had has been spent scrapping rather than blogging! That and the fact that everytime I remembered to take some photos, the light was too bad.

Anyway, I've been getting stuck into this months academy. I've been working backwards through the three modules, unintentionally I might add, it was just the way the inspiration took me. This is week 3, yellow is not a colour I often use but with the blues and browns in this kit it works really well. The theme is Life Lessons. The journalling is hidden under a flap.
There are some fabby little bits of bling in this kit.
I had an amazing surprise on Friday, I eventually managed to get to WHSmiths to buy a copy of Scrapbook Trends and when I opened it I saw this.....
And this.....
I emailed them ages ago and had no reply so assumed that they weren't going to print it, so was shocked to see it in there. I've won two dvd's for being printed but who knows when they'll turn up with the rate our post is arriving at the moment.
Hopefully a quieter week ahead with more time for blogging.

17

Now the sketch is up on the Twisted sketches site, I can share my guest DT layout with you.
The twist was to use bling so I used some glitter glue and some bejeweller pearls. Check it out and if you play along, leave me a link so I can nosey at what you've done!
