Christmas in Pictures

So here's what the Normans got up to this Christmas.......

Christmas Eve is the time for our big get together and this years theme was 'Masquerade'.

Nanny and her boys.....
No 2 bro cheated and bought his mask in St Marks Square, Venice!!!
A couple of teetotallers in the kitchen.....yeah right!!
No 1 bro.....
There were lots of silly games including this one where the aim was to get rid of 3 clothes pegs by clipping them to other people. Dad's Santa trousers made him an easy target!
Me and my lil man....
Secret Santa (or no 2 bro!!) was very kind and bought me a £25 Papermaze and a £25 Sarah's Cards voucher. He also got me a giraffe print all in one, stylish and cosy!!
I did well as Tom's secret Santa. He said it was the best present he'd ever had!
Santa's Little Helper.....
Jake had a whole new outfit! Yes those are pants on his head but he did tell me to put them there!
Doggies love presents too! Molly.....
Chewie.......
And Stella.......
It was exciting that the snow didn't melt before Christmas day, it looked so much more festive.
Table presents. Who wouldn't love a fake tash???
I have to point out that Clare ate all her lunch wearing this!

Boxing Day saw a marathon game of Triv, glad I stuck with it cos I won!!!
I was given by my cousins a book of knitting patterns for 'Mug Hugs' so I got straight to work and made some as presents for my cousins.....
On Wednesday we had 'afternoon tea' with my Mum's side of the family. I use inverted commas because there wasn't a lot of tea being consumed!
Well there was 'T' in Emily's cup it just had a measure of 'G' thrown in with it!!!
Tonight will be spent at my sister's, then the rest of the weekend will be spent returning to work mode!! Booooooooo!!
Back soon with some layouts, journal catch up and New Years Resolutions if I can make any!!

Journal Catch Up

This year I've managed to keep up with my Christmas journal (just about) but getting round to sharing it with you guys has just been out of reach. So I've picked a few of my favourite pages to show you now.

The cover......

My apologies for the quality of the photos but I'm not going out in the snow to get daylight shots!!!

Happy Blogmas

Well it's been ages again! I won't bother with excuses, lets just say life, and more importantly, Christmas got in the way. Luckily though I have been well organised enough to have done most of my preparation in advance and so the holidays so far have been relaxing and creative. In between little Christmassy bits and pieces I have watched Toy Story 3 (loved it!), been for a festive coffee or two and spent some much longed for time in my craft room.

Here's a layout I started and was left unfinished for about 2 weeks...unheard of with me! This little pup is providing me with endless cute photos to scrap, he's growing so quick and I wanna remember him being so little and sweet (might try and forget the naughty bit tho!!)
It's based on another sketch from the Sketches2scrapbook app. Can't remember which now??

I bought a couple of the Circa 1934 Cosmo papers at the Getaway and have just got around to using them. This photo is of my friends Emma and David, the photoshoot was my birthday present to Emma but as they had just got engaged it was extra special. I just love this photo, it just seems to sum them up. They love it too and have a massive canvas of it in their living room.
Yesterday, after a really long wait (blinking royal mail!!) my Dec kit arrived. It's so gorgeous and I was really pleased that I treated myself to a couple of the extra bits cos now I have loads of fabby Christmas stash to get stuck into. And I've already got stuck into it!
Last week my best friends got engaged, I was relieved as I had been keeping the secret for ages. Laurence told me he was going to propose and asked me what I thought of the ring and what size he should get about six weeks ago but told me not to breathe a word....which I did but it was so hard as Sarah is always the first person I tell any juicy gossip!
As it was a december proposal it had to be scrapped with Christmas stash! I used the kit and added one sheet of Dear Lizzy Christmas that I already had and went so well with the rest of the kit.
So now to enjoy Christmas before the best part of two years of Maid of Honour madness commences!!
Tomorrow is our family party. This year is a masked ball complete with £50 secret santa (our main present to each other) and the presentation to our Strictly sweepstake winners, amongst I'm sure lots of eating, drinking and much merriment. Christmas day will see our house full (sounds like the rest of the year) and lots of food (nothing new there then) and I've been very good so I think Santa might leave a little something in my stocking!
So that just leaves me to wish you, my lovely blog followers, a very merry Christmas

Love Him Already

Scrap by App

When it comes to downloading apps onto my iPhone I'm tight, I don't pay, or if I do I only get the 59p ones. But when I saw the Sketches2Scrapbook app I had to have it and so far it's been the best £2.99 I've ever spent. To have all that inspiration immediately to hand whenever I need it is just fab, and of course, it's lovely to see so many familiar faces that have contributed to it.

I'll leave you with a layout inspired my sketch #4.....
Teresa Collins papers and just about the cutest photo ever.

Attic Treasures

This months Gogo kit was true to it's name and completely full of treasures. I love the ecclectic style of the embellishments and so far have had lots of fun piling them onto pages!

Firstly my Yearbook page. Can't believe there is only one page left to do! Lots happened in November, I turned 27 (booooo,) we had a new family arrival our little Chewie who is actually not so little anymore, and our wicked night out in Cardiff.

The arrival of the kit coincided with the arrival of my photos from my Kirsty Wiseman shoot so of course that was the first thing I had to scrap.
How well do those chipboard windows go?

Long Time No See

I can no longer ignore the pile of layouts waiting to be photographed and my badly neglected blog! It's been a busy old couple of weeks and I am knackered.....I really have that end of term feeling and there's still two weeks to go. Two weeks of a full on uni project, planning for after Christmas, nativities, parties........ roll on the hols!

I haven't done much scrapping this week but there are lots of things to share with you that I did before. Firstly this layout, done with Glitz Designs papers that I have been dying to cut into since I bought them at the Getaway so appropriately I used them for this photo of me and my lovely friend Jackie at the Getaway.
As I know what a fan of hand cutting Jackie is....NOT.....I did lots on this layout just for her!!

I have managed to do a layout today and as I'm in a really Christmassy mood......how can you not be working with children this time of year?.....I did a festive layout.
This is the photo my neices and I had taken when we went to Cardiff a couple of weeks ago to see the AWESOME Peter Kay. We had an absolute ball not just at the gig but the whole evening, especially when we found this giant snowglobe that you could have your photo taken in and play snowball fights, just a shame my nephew was too embarrassed to come in with us! Don't worry I think he wished that he did when I started blowing him kisses! He hid behind a pillar. The papers are Lily Bee.
I have started my Christmas journal......I don't do prompts, I don't like being told what to put in it and I don't necessarily want a page per day, but I enjoy filling it with the details, the homemade goodies and the Christmassy events. Will share some pics with you soon.
Hope you are all well

The Layouts Part 3

I've just realised that I never shared with you the rest of the Getaway layouts. The first one was such a great idea. On Friday night when we arrived we had a group photo taken and on Saturday morning there was a hybrid layout and a copy of the photo in our cropping space ready for us to work our magic!
This layout was done when I got home but with Getaway stash plus a few class left overs.
I used a resist technique with UTEE and paint mists.
This layout was a spare class kit that I bought. It was called 'Spiromania' and took me right back to my childhood with the Spirograph kit.

The shapes complimented the patterned papers beautifully.

Just a quick post to share a couple of layouts that I did for a failed DT attempt. Really pleased with these two.

Inspiration

I recently had to retrieve my Graphic Designer skills out of mothballs (thanks Sarah for helping me to find them!!) to create a sketch for an (unsuccessful) DT application. Rather than let my hardwork fester in a folder on my hard drive I thought I'd share the inspiration with you lovely people. Here is the sketch:
And here is the layout:
If you have a go, I'd love to see it, leave me a link. If I get a few in the next week or two, I might just find some goodies for my favourite one.
Enjoy xxxx
