The Big 4-0

Firstly I need to say 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' to my dear old sis!! She's 40 today!! Congrats old lady xx

It's about time I showed you some layouts that I've done in the last couple of weeks. They've been sat waiting to be photographed for ages!

This one is using Echo Park 'Walk in the Park'......
Using my new journalling/date stamps....
Finally got around to using my SU tree stamps.....
This one was actually done for the GoGo Birthday challenge but I didn't get it photographed in time to enter. Still good for giving the old mojo a bit of a poke though!

Village Fete

I've finally got around to photographing some layouts. Happily, I have discovered a good spot with good light in our kitchen so hopefully, the quality of my photos will be improving from now on!

The first layout is using July's gogo kit and a photo I took of Max whilst we looked after him when Jake was in hospital. It was lovely spending so much quality time with him, even doing the everyday jobs like showering him, especially when he looked this cute all snuggled up in a big fluffy towel.
I went a bit flicky with some shimmer mists to 'dirty' things up a little and stop it being too pretty.
The second one is with the same kit and a photo of my niece Kerrie on her 21st a couple of weeks ago. I managed to get a totally different look with the kit on this one, much more pretty pretty.
I used lots of layering, scrunching, inking, stitching, embossing, punching and glossy accents to create loads of texture and interest.

What Goes Around Comes Around

I was so excited a couple of weeks ago when, after almost 10 months, my Gogo Celebrate Circle Journal arrived home. I was lucky and got mine back a month earlier than everyone else due to someone before me dropping out. My theme, more appropriately now than when we started, was 'GoGo Back to School' this was completely open to the participants interpretation and I think they really came up trumps.

Here is a reminder of the cover...
These were the lovely people who joined in. Trying not to be too OCD and let the 10th empty space bother me!!
This page is mine.... Using the October kit.
Then Nat's with the November kit....
Sarah's was December.....
Jade's was January...(how cute is her little guy?)
Jackie's used the feb kit and I was so glad that she used my fave picture of her!! So very Jackie (full of fun!)....
Alison looking very cute with March's kit. Funnily enough I was doing her journal at the same time with the same kit!
Vicki's truly gorgeous entry with April's kit. She really does have such a cool style.
Knowing Ally, I wasn't at all surprised to read her naughty haircut story! That picture is very sweet! Her's used the May kit.
Rather appropriately my journal was finished by Yvonne who like me is going to be a student teacher! She did a fab page with the June kit.
I have had a fab time doing this CJ and if it weren't for starting uni in September, I'd want to be joining another immediately! Need to hang on for a bit tho. I need to say a big Thank You to everyone who did an entry in my gorgeous journal and a special thanks to Vicki who, despite taking a fair amount of hassle, did a fab job of hosting it.
Thanks girls, big hugs xx

Schools Out For Summer

As my followers have started getting bored and dissappearing I thought I'd better blog! Last week was the last week of term, and what a week it was! Very busy but so fab that I didn't want it to end, all my crafty energy went into finishing the leavers book for the head, which went down VERY well, making cards and gift bags for staff pressies, and organising little gifts for the children.

I have an absolute mound of crafty things to share with you, including several layouts, some sneak peeks of my upcoming Banana Frog GDT work and other DT things and my newly returned CJ.

I am on the third day of a three week house/pet sitting tour and so am currently without my own computer but luckily I remembered to upload a picture of the current Paper Proposals challenge to share with you. The challenge is to make a card based around the colours of the blog. As I was so tight for time last week, my take was very literally based on the whole blog design but I was really pleased with the result......
Get yourself over to the blog now and have a go, you could win the chance to design for a future challenge and give yourself a mojo boost at the same time!

I promise I will be back, with loads to show you, very soon!

Pretty Grungey

There's not been much time for craftyness this week. I've been really busy, spent a bit more time in school preparing, there and at home, for the end of term. There's lots going on cos our Head is retiring, including a leaving book, guess who's in charge of that???

I finshed the week with a monster migraine which was made worse cos I knew that I had an untouched Gogo kit and my Banana Frog GDT stamps to play with. Well now I have had some good sleep and have lots of time to get stuck in, there will be no stopping me!

As I don't have much to share, (well I do but the weather has been so terrible I haven't been able to get photos) I have dug through my files and found a layout that I don't remember sharing....apologies if I have!
And then here is my take on the paperproposals week 3 challenge. I had lots of fun with this one, I wanted it to be pretty cos Chloe is such a girly but I was in the mood to be messy so I grunged it up a bit! Get on over to the blog and check it out, I'd love to see what you come up with.
Have a great Sunday xxx

Excuses!

I've just realised that I never shared anymore of the 21st book that I was working on a while back so here are a few of my favourite pages.

It was quite tricky for several reasons, one is obviously because I was doing it for someone else and not myself, something I always find hard because you don't have fond memories or strong feelings about the photos. Secondly, I chose the papers (foolishly) before I had seen the photos, I know Chloe now and she is really girly but I didn't know that from around 6 til 13/14 she was a complete tomboy so I had to work hard to make the papers fit. Also, because the older photos were taken before digital cameras were around, some of them were not particularly great quality. But hey, enough moaning, her Mum was so pleased with it that she cried so I must have done an ok job!

I left space on this page for a message from her Mum.
And I presented it in a box with a special tag.
I hope you are all having a good week so far. Have you tried this weeks PaperProposals challenge? This one is a really thought provoking but very versatile one, check it out and give it a go. I would love to see what you come up with.

Special Guest

Now it's gone live, I can share with you the work I did for my Guest designer role for ATripDownMemoryLane. I have to be honest, the kit I was sent was something I would have never chosen, Capella from Basic Grey. The colours and patterns very traditional and not exactly me but I hope I have shown that you can be versatile and put your own twist on products.

Firstly I did a little home decor item.

One of the papers had a worn looking cream side so I used that to make some roses. I watered down some brown and pink shimmer mists to give them a soft aged look.

As the papers were vintage, I took the opportunity to scrap some more of Dad's childhood photos. I did this layout with a picture of Dad and Aunty Sue.

I stuck some of the element stickers onto card and cut them out so that I could pop them up on foam pads. I also added some glossy accents, I love to do this with stickers as it adds texture and puts your own mark on them.

I used one of the border stickers that I wasn't to keen on as a mask for the paint mist. I stuck it onto my clothing first so that it wasn't too sticky.

I had a lot of fun being a bit experimental and grungey with this one. I used some corrugated card, some dress pattern paper and some flicked paint mist to create lots of texture.

Again I popped the stickers up with foam pads for depth.

All in all I am pleased with what I produced and thoroughly enjoyed using the kit I was sent. Head over to ATDML to see what the DT members have done.

It's That Time Of Year Again

As we are almost halfway through July it can mean only one thing....CHA time!! As usual I am thoroughly enjoying the build up and checking out sneak peeks. These are a few of the goodies I have spied so far.

Of course, it had to be, Seaside from October Afternoon. So beautifully summery but I can't help worry that winter will be upon us before it gets anywhere near our shores!!
Then this little beauty of a stamp by Kaiser, bubble wrap. How cool???
These new Journalling sprouts from Jillibean Soup will so be ending up in my Christmas Journal this year, (she says desperately hoping she'll have the time to do one!)
Now I am never quite sure about Sassafras, usually a bit cartoony for my liking but I think they have come up trumps with this pretty collection, Indie Girl.
If you have CHA fever like me, you can get your fix and keep up to date here.
If you spot anything good, let me know!

A Walk In The Park

After getting such a fabulous deal and loving the Sweet Summertime collection from Echo Park, I couldn't turn down an equally great deal on the new Walk in The Park collection. It arrived on Friday just before I went away. I wasn't taking any scrapping stuff with me but I couldn't bear to leave it behind so I took it to stroke and drool over and plan some lovely layouts!

As soon as I got the chance, I whipped up these two layouts.....

And the best bit is, I've heard on the grapevine that they will be releasing a new collection every month and at just £11.99 (plus the fabby discounts at Creative Craft World) who could say no??

Are We There Yet?

So now I am halfway through my Gogo yearbook and every month when I get it out to work on my pages, I love to look back through and see all the lovely things that I've done so far this year. I am so pleased that I decided to join in with this project and definitely plan to do something similar next year.

I love the June kit, it seems to just suit the things I have done this month!
Quite a packed month so lots of little photos of a complete mixture of events.

So that's June in a nutshell, roll on July! xx

I used the Echo Park Sweet Summertime collection which is so bright and cheerful.
The next challenge will be up on Friday and you will be able to see my first DT project for it.
Happy Scrapping xx
