New Year, New Kitchen

The work on our kitchen was officially finished today. It's taken the best part of two months and in hindsight Nov and Dec were not the best two months to choose but hey, it's all done now and looks really good. To celebrate I baked some cakes and had a play with my new icing set that I had for Christmas. It was quite funny, and was definitely not easy but here are the results....some more successful than others!
I made this to hang in our new look kitchen. The tiles are in shades of browns so I chose papers to tone in. I used some pages I had left from a Basic Grey chipboard book.
I covered these chipboard letters in liquid pearls, I like how it kind of looks like icing!
These letters were heat embossed. I cut the cupcakes from patterned paper and covered them in glossy accents.
I covered some flowers in glossy accents to make them a bit more durable.
My Mum loves it and can't wait to hang it up.
Last night we sat down and caught up with the last episode of Gavin and Stacey. I was so sad it was the last episode cos I love it but I love how it finished and am kind of glad they called it a day when they did otherwise it might have grown stale. Hope they come up with something new for me to watch now!
