Feb Banana Frog Blog Hop

So welcome to my first blog hop as a member of the bananafrog DT! The theme this month is hearts and seeing as Valentines day has been and gone I thought I'd share an idea for something different to do with your heart stamps. Here goes.....

Choose a medium sized button and draw around it on a scrap of card, this won't be seen so it doesn't matter what you use. Cut it out and put to one side, you'll need this later.
Stamp a pair of hearts onto a paper of your choice. I used the heart stamp from the Charming Prince set. Cut them out.
Using some thin wire, thread through the button and twist to create antennae.
Using the circle of card you cut at the beginning, attach the two hearts using a glue dot, then use another glue dot to attach the button on top to make a cute little butterfly. These can then be used as an embellishment on any number of different projects.
I used mine on this tag, using the ends of wire to give the effect of the butterfly fluttering around.
Now head over to my lovely friend and fellow DT newbie Anne's blog.

A Right Pair

This month, because of a subscription overlap, I've been lucky enough to have two gorgeous kits delivered. First one from Scrapagogo, which I used for this LO (I've painted the kids out cos they were only wearing their little pants)
My twin cousins 'cleaning' the windows! Love how colourful this kit is.
And with my Studio Calico kit, another page about double trouble!
Such cute photos of them in their little chairs. I was really pleased with this little rose I made by punching a scalloped circle, cutting it into a spiral and curling it round to form a little bud shape.

More Crocheted Creations

Thanks for all your lovely comments about the finger puppets, the children and staff at nursery really loved them. Here are a couple more projects that I got from the same book. Firstly this little bag and butterfly puppet which I made for my cousin Mollie's 3rd birthday......
And this mermaid is for my cousin Matt's birthday (it's to do with a bit of a long standing joke!!!)

Handmade Present

My Aunty celebrated her 50th birthday this weekend and I wanted to make her a little something to go with the money we gave her. As she is always admiring the one I made for my Mum, and she spends a lot of time cooking up a storm, I made her this for her kitchen!
Bet you can't guess her colour scheme!!!

Fourteen Little Finger Puppets!

As this post appears on my blog I will be doing my last day on my nursery placement. I've really enjoyed it, much more than I thought I would, and I wanted to make the children a little present to say Thank you and goodbye. I shared a couple of weeks ago some finger puppets I had crocheted and now I can show you the finished sets.

I've made them to correspond with songs. First there is Incy Wincy Spider.......
I think this set is my fave, five little men in a flying saucer.......
And finally, sorry bout the photo, five little monkeys jumping on the bed!
Can't wait to give them, I really hope they like them. The patterns are all from a book called Crocheted Finger Puppets that I found on Amazon.

Document January

I'm very excited to share with you the first month of my Document 2011 project. I can tell already that I am really gonna enjoy this. I had great fun collecting bits to go in the pocket and because I've had it in mind I seem to have taken lots more photos than I would've done before.

And how glad am I that I got those KI calendar papers, they look so pretty all lined up in my album ready to go! So here's January......
In the pocket, a copy of an exciting email (more about that soon) ticket stubs from The Kings Speech, business cards from the wedding boutiques I visited with Sarah, a drawing one of the children in school did for me, the card from my first ever Studio Calico kit and an extra photo.
The layout had to be this photo of me and my best friend Sarah on a really fun night out we had at her friend's 30th. I LOVE those scribble stickers, they are sooooo yummy!
Apologies for these photos, the divided sections have to be photographed in their page protectors so there is a bit of glare that I just couldn't help. I love this section cos I could include some of the little things like spending time with the boys as well as the big 'events'.
I've already collected quite a few bits and taken photos this month ready for the next set of pages. I'll have two kits this month as I have the last of my gogo subscription and the next from SC so I will have lots of stash to choose from....can't wait!

I Have Been Creating......Honest!

I can't believe it's been two weeks since I blogged! Where did that time go?? Uni has been pretty full on and I'm thankful on a daily basis that I didn't do the full time course!! I had my first tutor observation at nursery this week which went very well but there was a lot of prep and planning to do before hand, as well as work for an upcoming tutorial....roll on half term.

So anyway, I have still managed to be fairly creative in between all the work. Here are a couple of layouts I've done over the last few weeks......
At Christmas we had an 'afternoon tea' Emily didn't wanna look out of place so drank her G&T from a cup and saucer! I did this layout with the January gogo kit.
When I got these black and pink papers I knew they'd be spot on with this photo of Emma and David. I'm not exactly happy with it, I think it's a bit overly frilly but nevermind.

And finally this one with Cosmo Mitten Weather. It wasn't until I looked at this layout on the computer screen that I could put my finger on what wasn't quite right about it but now I think I should have made the red misting more horizontal IYKWIM but there is nothing I can do about it now!!
Will schedule some posts with some more of my crafty exploits soon.
